Fix Camera, Microphone and Video Chat Problems
Start by identifying the failure: a denied device, a working preview with no remote media, or missing sound. These have different causes, so changing random settings can add confusion.
Camera or microphone permission is denied
Open the browser’s site controls beside the address bar and allow the device required by your mode. Then check operating-system privacy settings. Video needs a camera and microphone; voice needs a microphone; text needs neither.
The wrong camera or microphone is selected
Use the device selectors in the call panel once permission is granted. Close other apps that might be holding the device. On a phone, choose another available camera if you want to change the view.
The local preview works but the call is blank
Your camera can work even when the network cannot connect you to a peer. Try another conversation or network. VPNs, restrictive firewalls, and unavailable relay services can affect calls; a preview alone does not prove remote connectivity.
You cannot hear the other person
Check whether the browser tab, device output, or headphones are muted. Confirm the correct output device in your system settings. If the page offers an Enable sound control, use it to allow playback.
You hear echo or the call drops
Use headphones and avoid running two unmuted tabs near each other. Stop unused bandwidth-heavy tasks. If the connection ends, reconnect explicitly; Omegall does not secretly place you in a new conversation.
Use text while troubleshooting
You can leave the call and choose text chat without granting camera or microphone access. The modes use separate queues, so this starts a new conversation rather than moving your current partner.
